Default You'll love it!

You'll love it! Well so says J.J. Abrams.

Not much there, but it's something. Bigger ships are a plus. Hope they have the size and weight they had in TWOK. I never liked the fast whipping around dogfighting starships you see in TNG films.

Flash and fun, I don't know about that, hope it's kept to a minimum. I don't think Star Trek needs bells and whistles it needs good writing.

"There are some pretty spectacular visual effects. ILM outdid themselves. It's amazing."

Well it still sounds good to me, but given the vast difference of opinion on Abrams so far, there will be obvious and vocal disagreements with his statements.

But he's right - he could never have pleased everyone anyway.

As long as he doesn't turn it completely into action, starwars fare I'm pretty optimistic. It'll be definitely nice to see Star Trek get these kind of effects. I mean Trek has depicted some pretty amazing things on screen. Look at the planet eater from TOS. It looked kinda hoaky but the concept was amazing. Or the ship in 'The Corbonite Maneuver'. Certainly, it'd be interesting to see what ILM would do with something like that so it's nice Trek is finally getting effects like this, let's just hope that's not all it is.

Great. $12-14 to watch an SFX demo reel that just happens to have dialogue mixed into it in places. [Ben Stein voice]Woooooooooow.[/BSv]

Nice description! If that's the way it plays I'll be getting my $12-14 dollars back!
