I find these ships totally okay.

Sure, the Scimitar sucked. It was a terribly poor, naive and bad design. But now that it was done it makes sense for a comic about a bunch of renegade Romulans to include the Remans. And if one does so, why not to include their ships design too. In all honesty, these ships look a lot better then the Scimitar, and for a comic the design is fine with me, because I dont expect a comic to have so great designs anyway (it hurts less on these small and tiny pictures the on the huge screen).

Oh Lordy Lordy...we found something else to pick to shreds...that penstroke is not right. The expression Nero's face looks goofy. Please people.

Maybe it's just one frame, and the pen and ink staff had a budget crunch during that frame. Maybe they were hungry and couldn't wait to go for some McNuggets???
Give the guy a break, drawing an entire comic is hard!

My opinion is that these ships bear a hazy resemblance to the Scimitar. But only in the way that the Ent-D looks like the Ent-E. So no worries!

There is no big deal really...people just have the need to make comments...which is cool, that is what forums are for. Few of them however do not take into acount the long hours of hard work, talent and dedication it takes to even craft the most amateur of comic book productions. It is an art form not an exact science.
