Default Absinthe

Well after nearly a hundred years the US has finally lifted its ban on absinthe so pull out your sugar cubes.

Actually I've never had it, but will try it. How 'bout anyone else? You like it?

No.

They don't call it Death in the Afternoon for nothing.

Absinthe - 'it is green'

Well, I have had it at least once - either in Prague or Hamburg. I don't remember which, though it may have been the latter. I don't know if my lack of memory is connected to said Ansinthe or not. I remember rather liking it. I would have it again, but just the one!!

American absinthe is for the birds... it's like drinking non-alcoholic beer.... why bother? The slightly hallucinatory effect (which was it's attraction to so many poets and artists) is caused by woormwood, which is carefully distilled OUT of domestic brands. Probably because like most mind altering drugs, is a mild toxin.

Leonard Nimoy sprinkles non-distilled, toxic absinthe hallucinogens on his breakfast cereal just for the flavor!

When Nimoy drinks a fifth of Johnny Walker Red, Johnny gets the hangover!

etc. etc.

I believe I suffered that hallucinatory effect - after I drank it I was convinced I was sober as a Judge on Sunday!!

haha, all that's left to legalize is hemp and salvia.

Salvia was already sold in health food shops and etc, so we could just go back to that. As for hemp (AKA Marijuana, which is the Spanish word.) it could be regulated like tobacco is. Perhaps buying a permit to grow it. Personally, anything that grows on the ground has no right to be made illegal.

RATS! I was all excited, too... I'll have to wait until I'm in Europe to try it.
