I also think that there would have been more depth to that movie with a few DS9 people (at least in cameo roles) on the Defiant.

-- Also, another thing... I just had this thought but wouldn't it also have been interesting if after the Defiant is "adrift", to show on DS9 perhaps they're scrambling to repair it or something and would this have an effect on a story --

or not. Just an afterthought, really.

i hate to say a captain is killed but worf wasn't in command ok this is my theory. sisko was commanding and he was knocked out or incapacitated during the battle cuz the defiant was pretty beat up. and he took command.

First Contact was fine the way it was. Worf commanding the Defiant is not that far-fetched, and not having any other DS9 cast present isn't either, if you'll remember, he was a command level officer at that point, and Sisko was giving him greater responsibilities. Depending on the mission Worf was sent on, it wouldn't have been that hard to have him in the right place at the right time to go to Earth (if he wasn't there already) to help fight the Borg. If you'll remember, Earth and DS9 aren't exactly neighbors, so there would have had to have been some underlying reason for him to be there, but in the context of the movie's plot, it isn't important for us to know why he was there, only that he was.

I always thought the Sisko wouldn't let Worf just take the Defiant. He could have ended up in there stealing even more screen time from the TNG ensemble and making the movie rock.

Dunno, just a thought
You're brilliant that would have been the best idea for that film...MAN!

Yeah, but if you think about it, how would they explain Sisko not being on the show for several weeks while involved with the Borg? I think it's all a sweet idea, however the continuity would get screwed up.

Quark-

Having Worf show up in the Defiant did not screw up DS9 continuity?

I know, but Sisko would. Sisko was a star of a show at the same time the film came out. I mean, Worf must be in the film due to the fact that he is part of the TNG crew.

I agree with the drama premise. But in reality ,wouldn't Sisko have led the Defiant into that battle?
