Does neither sound very Romulan nor make me wanna buy the comics.
(Sifting through your grammar) I would have to agree, apart from a completist point of view...

Again, I think accepting a wider, more textured view of alien races is important here. Sure, the high-ranking members of the elite Romulan military that we're used to seeing might not swear every other word, but these guys are a Romulan mining crew. They're not going to giggle with embarrassment over saying '***'. :P

Just a quick note: all the pages can be found on the Comics Continuum site here:

http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stori.../idwfirsts.htm

[Edit: That is to say, all the pages that are being offered for preview (1 - 5,) not all the pages of the book. Also, there are what I believe are 2 variants of the cover, which is just the image of Nero from the teaser posters (one drawn, one photographic.)]

Neat, so far. The ship's got traces of the Romulan military design aesthetic, but it's unique enough to look like a civilian ship.

As for the crew - nice to see some non-military Romulans as well. Every civilisation has a swathe of different cultures, so it's very silly to expect that every Romulan in the Empire should look, dress, act, and speak exactly the same. The fact that Nero mentions "gods" doesn't necessarily make him religious, either, since religious oaths are prettymuch universal.

Well on second thoughts, i forgot Nero is not military. Yea so i guess its pretty norm. Besides, now that its not military why the need for green? Brown is a nice distinguishing mark, nice bulgy impulse engines

Nero has a French beard!!! Cool!

Trekmovie.com deleted my comments where I informed them about this. They delete hints from fans to news! Later, they posted the news without mentioning me.
I certainly won't post any more news or findings there again. What the hell has become of this site...

I say they are pretty &#$^&#$ tame for a mining crew

That comic gives me hope.

1. Nero and the Romulans don't act as the cliché villains, that I fear since I saw the promotion posters.

2. All that technobabble really sounds like Star Trek

My biggest concern abou this movie is that it messes with the Romulans ... again.
"Gods have mercy on us" might indicate (besides "Nero") that these are no more Romulans but rather Rom(ul)ans, you know, the "aliens" who appeared in two TOS episodes . Preferences about the "better" Romulans differ, but I much prefer the TNG Romulans, treacherous, fascistic, insidious and not the TOS-honourous-Romans version.

And sorry to say so, but making them quasi-human, let them use slang like "get your a**" up here, then mutilate their ears, paint them with evil-looking tatoos and letting Bana look oh-so-evil is a little bit too cheap for my book.
