Anyone besides me anxiously awaiting to see how many of the classic trek visual effects are updated?

The special effects I'm most excited to take a gander at are:
Transporters
phasers
warp drive
tricorders
bridge and sickbay stations
I love me some gadgets!

I like those blue/reds trails when the refit warpes (movie 2,3,4,5,6).

I really like those colors.


also a good question I think how will the phaseres look: one long beam (tos, tng) or star warsy multiple lasers (Wrath of Khan).


the torpedoes: I want to here the tos sound effect of that again, i loved it.

The Defiant from DS9 had pulse phasers. Would expect that we'll be looking at solid beams for the phasers. Hopefully the photon torpedoes are comparable with what we've seen and not some effect that looks 'futuristic' compared to TNG/DS9/Voyager.

lol, Remember the Tricorder was so big it hung around Spocks neck. I hope that is changed in some way.

I am interested in seeing how the transporter looks as well.

I'm also looking forward to the sounds. You know, the lift doors, the transporter and the 'chirrup' of the communicator. These things should be closer to the originals than the visual effects due to the dating effect that has more of a severe affect on the visuals of the show which will lead to much improved effects. There's nothing that'll quite prove the canonicity of this film than the swish of the bridge doors! lol

Oh, and also since we're talking of sounds, just the soothing chirping of the viewscreen or sensors.

Im hoping for a progression of the look and feel from Enterprise.

The effect I'm looking most forward to is the transporter effect. It seems every Trek is gets revised slightly, I'm curious to see how it looks in this new movie.

Also, I am looking forward to classic communicator chirps and the "swish" of the doors sliding... I think these too noises need to stay in tact, or at least just slightly polished.
