But we know that he is not. Simon Pegg being English and all...

1. Kirk commands the Enterprise
2. Spock is his first officer
3. Chekov and Sulu are helm/navigation
4. Uhura is communications
5. Scotty is engineering
6. Bones is the country doctor in space

Anything else is fair game.

The result was one of the best TOS episodes ever! Same thing with TNG and "First Contact."

We've seen this before... only now, when things get muddled with, the changes might become permanent.
Uhura might actually end up having some hot bedrrom scenes...
Scotty might end up with an authentic Scottish accent...
Kirk might get the crap beaten out of him once in a while by someone other than Finnigan...
Spock could end up being a litle more "cool" with his human side...
Sulu might have a romantic intrest in something other than his saber and his plants....
Chekov could get killed, and stay that way!
And the Enterprise might permanently end up getting an upgrade.

How horrible!
What, kill Chekov for good!? I hope that’s a joke.

Ensign Krupnick, that's who! (Checov's replacement from central casting... probably played by Jimmy Fallon)

Seriously though, here's a thought: what if...

What if it was Nero's time meddling that caused the temporal split which resulted in the "mirror, mirror" alternate timeline? IF that were the case, then J.J. would actually be adding to the canon, rather than throwing it to the four winds...

Just a thought.

Nope, because the mirror universe was shown on Enterprise as existing in the mid 2150s,
