Astaire was the best! No other dancer I know of has been able to emulate his style and ability. Ever see him dance together with Gene Kelly in (I think it was) Zeigfield Follies? Kelly was a very athletic dancer- great without arguement. But Fred had the ability to, dare I say, defy the laws of physics with his movements- and he was 13 years older than Kelly at the time (well, I guess he was always 13 years older ).
