When I think about which movie could I pop in the DvD player and watch it anytime I want, I would have to choose First Contact. The Wrath of Kahn has always been my favorite movie of ANY kind. Then comes my other favorite, Nemesis. I love the story line, the Romulans finally get to be villians in a motion picture. The villian was eerie, and if I were going to fight an enemy, who worse but to look into my own face? So If I rate them it would be, THE WRATH OF KAHN
FIRST CONTACT, (a very very close second)
The Search for Spock
The Motion Picture
The Voyage Home
The Undiscovered Country
The Final Frontier

I hated to put any of the films in last place, but someone has to bring up the rear. I love Generations too!!!

The guy who directed "The Voyage Home" also directed "Three Men and a Baby"!?!
Spock: "Random chance seems to have operated in our favor"
McCoy: "In plain, non-Vulcan English, we've been lucky"
Spock: "I believe I said that, Doctor" (The Doomsday Machine)

I agree and I hope they don't. I don't see a need to bring back Khan. If they go on with the younger TOS crew from the upcoming film he may come up but I don't see using him again as a good thing or really likely. It's a story that doesn't need to be retold and I suspect they know that. I'm sure they can come up with new villains or even borrow one or two from the other Trek series. There is a much bigger choice available now than there was then. Anyway Montalban was soooo good I think they will be hard pressed to find an actor willing to step into those shoes.
Ok, maybe this is wishful thinking but I'm an optimist dammit.

TWOK saved Star Trek. People were pretty disappointed with the first Star Trek movie even though it did well in the box office. It had no heart and focused on the Decker and Illia characters instead of Kirk, Spock and McCoy. TWOK was almost perfect.

Since the new movie is focusing on the characters plus adding modern action it should do well with all generations of movie goers - Star Trek fans and non-fans alike.

I'm a little surpised that there's been no vote for The Search for Spock. Although TWOK is my favourite, as an almost direct sequel, it's actually rather good.
