Default What film in the series so far do you consider to be the best and why?

I started a poll on what film in the series (so far) do fans consider the worst in the series and why and thought this would be a fun thread as well.

For me it is Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn. A close second is Star Trek: First Contact. Both those films are hard acts to follow. Each represented the best of what those cast could do on a big screen.

This should be multiple choice.

I had to go with ST2 here... mostly cause I like the story and pace of it.. it feels like a true 'how Trek should be' kinda movie to me somehow. Down to business kinda script but yet not 'dumbed down' much... interesting ideas in story like the 'Genesis Device'... good chemistry/drama interaction without being too boring.. etc etc...

TMP would win hands down if this was based on best F/X, set design, and music though... for its day...

Then it would not be THE best. But I could have split it up - best TOS cast film and best TNG cast film.

Star Trek II definitely. Great story, tie-in to TOS, great acting, and decent special effects.

I fail to comprehend your indignation, sir. I have simply made the logical deduction that you are a liar. (Spock)

TWOK all the way around! A great story, great acting, great direction, great score, the whole package, just one great film!

I also like Trek IV quite a bit too, second best I suppose.

It's an even tie between TWOK and FC for me, so I flipped a coin. KHAAAAAAN!

That's my favorite TNG cast film, the one I saw the most in the theaters and second out of all ten films for similar reasons ....... You're right I should have made this poll multiple choice or split it in two.
