He laughed? Are you serious? What a putz!

Doohan- That's one of the things we spoke about when I met him- his days in the Royal Canadian Artillery. He told me that he was a pilot and that he once got reprimanded for flying low and sloloming 16 telephone poles. I could totally see him doing that.

Patrick Stewart & Alex Siddig & James Cromwell (one of those who plays lots of one-time roles) I'll let you know when I think of more.

Avery Brooks as Benjimin Sisko in DS9. Great actor, tough character and boy can he sing.

In the episode "The Visitor" an accident claims Sisko leaving his son Jake obsessed with bring him back. It is the only Star Trek episode that brought me to tears.

There are actors higher up on my list but Brooks was not mentioned yet so I thought I would and explain why.

My favourite is Patrick Stewart, I did think though that Nana Visitor was often very under-rated as Kira on DS9.

Jeffery Combs - Talk about versatile! And good in every role, he even played different versions of the same character (Weyoun) and managed to give them all different nuances. Plus he was coolest Andorian ever. Pwnd Archer.

Brad Dourif - Stole the show as Lon Suder. Wish he had been in it more!

Leonard Nimoy- Spock is one of the best characters in Sci-fi and I admire anyone who can make deadpan interesting.

Avery Brooks- He brings great presence and dignity to Captain Sisko (and we share a birthday)

Nichelle Nichols- The lady has class and she was greatly appealing and brought a great warmth to Uhura. Her skills were usually underused but they were considerable.

James Doohan- Scotty was so cool! And cuddly. Doohan brought that required twinkle to his eye.

Patrick Stewart- He's good in every role he does and works well as a successor for Kirk, a very hard role to fill.

I didn't know that he played that part? Icredibly campy yet entertaining vampire movie.

Patrick Stewart, Leonard Nimoy, Mark Lenard, Kate Mulgrew, Connor Trinneer.

I saw that someone mentioned Avery Brooks... Funny because IMO, he was one of the worst. To each his own, I guess.

Brooks may not have been the best, however he did have his moments "The Visitor" is a good example.

My favorite characters were generally the "Stranger in a Strange Land" ones: Spock, Data, Odo. I assume I wouldn't feel that way if the actors weren't good so I'll say Nimoy, Spiner and Auberjonois. Very VERY close second were the characters who added dimension to these guys: Kirk/McCoy, Picard, Kira.
