Default Actually Glad this was moved to May.

At first I was disappointed that we weren't going to get a Star Trek Christmas, but the more I look at the amounts of snow and ice that are coming down outside the gladder I am that I don't have to commute in it to go see Star Trek this month, and I live in the midwestern United States, I can't imagine what some of the Northwestern States must be getting. If the new Trek was out this month, I don't think I would have made it to the premiere. At least in May we'll have clear roads. Anyone else happy about this?

I beginning to doubt whether we will see any serious marketing for this movie... I hope I am wrong.

Understandable sentiment, since the marketing for this film was started then halted before it really got going.

Trust me, in a couple months you'll have no doubt TREK marketing is in effect and ramping up to May!

With this long a lead, the studio is actually being very smart to ensure TREK does not wear out its welcome too early before the film opens. The marketing needs to inspire audiences about TREK, not tire them out two months before it hits theaters. Pacing is important.

Agreed. Remember, the marketing strategy is going to be aimed at more of the gneral public. I know Trek fans can't get enough, but too much marketing too early will be overkill.
