Meh, OOC (out of character) it's a great way to make it possible to decide on a plotline some time in the future. You can fill in the blank that Q left. And I don't think Q suddenly changed his mind about telling him; in fact, it looked like he was either teasing him about answering or blessing him with his breath.... weird.
