Default No Nurse Chapel in new movie?

Does anyone know if nurse Chapel's character appears in the movie, can't see her in the IMDB listing.

Doesn't she rate a part? She was in love with Spock.

Seeing as how McCoy is newly posted to the Enterprise, maybe he has not picked her for his Head Nurse yet?

I think Yeoman Janice Rand is missing too for probably the same reason as Nurse Christine Chapel.

There is an actress listed on IMDB named Elizabeth Ingalls playing a "Nurse" ..... Maybe she is Chapel.

I'm also not seeing any Yeoman listed in the cast.

Does anyone know who Captain Pike's Number One is? And what is Spock ... The Science Officer?

And for the same reason that Pike and Chekov are serving on the same ship and why the bridge and nacelles are different, etc...

A few months ago, I was curious about all this as well but I've stopped asking myself these questions since the basic premise of the film was revealed. Until proven otherwise to me, this is not the same Trek.

The fact that a character doesn't appear on TREK's IMDB listing doesn't mean that character isn't in the film. It's a user submitted site, and therefore can be both highly uninformed and inaccurate about films this far out from release, for obvious reasons.

If all she does is drool over Spock, we don't need her. If, however, they focused on her research and nursing skills, it would be fun to have her. I've long said I thought Charlize Theron would be a good choice for Nurse Chapel...as the movie is leaning toward younger, lesser known actors, I think Maggie Grace would be a good choice.

Maybe in the next film?

Maggie Grace would be a good choice, she is a great actress who needs more exposure. Emma Caulfield I think would be a good choice too.

They should have the Nurse Chapel character in the film as a tribute to Majel. Chapel was not one of the "Big Seven" but her character is remembered fondly by many thanks to Majel's performance. Bones should have her around in sick bay.

If they really wanted to make it a tribute, they'd have her join the crew at the very end, right before the final credits that start "dedicated to Majel Barret Roddenberry {fill in the verbage}"

They could conceivably go back and film such a scene after learning of Mrs. Roddenberry's death.

Caufield definitely has the right look...how tall is she? It might seem shallow, but to me, Chapel is a huge physical presence. She's as tall as any of the men and taller than the Captain...I want that in the movie Chapel. (Maggie Grace is tall!)

Maggie Grace is 5'9" (same height as Majel Barrett)
Emma Caufield is 5'5"

Chris Pine is 6' 1/2" (William Shatner is 5'9")

you win! Plus Maggie is closer in age to Chris as Majel is to Bill.
