NASA broadcasted "Across the Universe" to Polaris on Monday to mark the 40th anniversary of that song...and the 45th anniversary of the Deep Space Network, and the 50th anniversary of NASA. Ain't it cool?
You know how Hollywood likes to depict goofy friendly aliens as the smiling Vulcan types? Da-iry milk campaign, Galaxy Quest... Well the Beatles had the hair... I think they inspired Chekov's original haircut. Anybody heard the album LOVE? Sometimes I think they aren't from this planet... its like a call home. :P

Lifelong Beatles fan and musician here...my mother swears my first words were "Yeah, yeah, yeah."
One of my bass guitars is a 1971 Hofner...unfortunately, I'm not a lefty... I've been lucky enough to meet The Quarrymen, Horst Fascher, Pete Best, Cynthia Lennon, May Pang, David Peel and Tommy Doyle... This was me playing at Strawberry Fields in New York City back on October 9th on John Lennon's birthday: ![]()

Oh yeah. Beatles are most excellent!!
-- I love especially a lot of their later stuff that they did through the mid to late 60s ~ 70s -- (Back in the days when rock stars actually wrote tunes) |

The Beatles were one of my childhood faves in the 60's and 70's. However, 40 years later I rarely ever listen to them, at least not intentionally, unless I watch A Hard Day's Night or Help!. I'm not much interested in their music anymore. I have heard their songs hundreds of times and now I find myself bored with them. I much prefer listening to classic music or jazz.

Not mine, but mine looks exactly like this one...the one pictured is a 1967...mine is supposedly a 1971, but I was told by friends of mine who were in one of the many touring companies of BeatleMania that it could be as old as a 1968...
