Then try http://www.startrekphase2.de/files/s...1.pal.divx.zip from a German site, but don't worry, it's without subtitles.

My god, what a great episode! My new favorite!

Including Xon was a nice nod to the original Phase II.
And the funniest scene was:
"Husband! Marry you! We'll talk about it! After the mission! I mean... setting a date! For the wedding!"

Great show, as to be expected they are becoming better and better.
The acting was good, especially of the new Spock, Kirk, Freeman and Xon.
I liked the first steps into Phase II/the movie era: Xon, Scotty's TWOK-like uniform/suit, the design of the displays.
Showing the pictures of the previous Enterprises from Archer's ready room was also a nice touch.

I know you are a doctor, not a miracle worker.

I've yet to watch it, since my home system isn't really up to it... but, since tomorrow is Christmas Eve, I think I'll be stuck at work with nothing to do... So I'll watch it on my work system.

It must be making some ripples... they just ran a news story on the episode on G4's "Attack of the Show"... so the show is definitely on the geek/nerd radar now. Congratulations are in order to these filmmakers... they are moving the franchise into areas that the studios were too chicken s*** to do offically. Hats off to you guys!

Spoilers ahead! Don't read on if you still want to see the episode "cold".

No, really.

Okay, you've been warned.

I finally watched the first half. My inital response is... Yay!

Leave it to David Gerrold to hit the issue head on. The only thing that I thought was a little "off" about the episode was that it became a Trek episode based around his nephew, rather than solidly on one of the established main characters. It's something that wasn't done in TOS, so it's distracting me from the drama somewhat. On a technical level, these guys are getting better with each installment. I only noticed tell tale "cardboard" here and there. (Nice use of crumpled foil for the destroyed bridge, BTW. Whomever did your dressing for those scenes did an outstanding job!) The "wavicle" animation and compositing was very professional too. I totally bought it!) The scene where one of the survivors commits suicide via phaser was honestly shocking, and shows that you guys are really getting good at this!

The main beef I have is with the pacing... I know you guys are trying to create as close to an actual episode as possible, including the running time, but you're creating web content here folks! You're not locked into having commercial breaks at regular intervals. Some of the scenes of exploring the Coppernicus could be trimmed, and we wouldn't lose a thing.

Faveorite bits:
1. Ensign Kirk's quarters scene. It's a bit long, sure, but you had quite a bit of exposition to get through.

2. Captain Kirk's reaction to his nephew's marriage announcement.

3. "I believe Mr Scott was too busy to have noticed."

4. "You owe me $20"

5. The aformentioned suicide by phaser scene... I was completely hooked once this happened.

6. Great cliffhanger!

And the bad:

1. Pacing... some of the corridor scenes could have been cut down, as I said before.

2. As much as I was rejoicing with the Kirk/Freeman quarters scene, I wish there had been some way of cross cutting with the Enterprise approaching the double star system... it would have broken up the scene a bit, and things would have seemed to move a bit faster.

I'd like to know what episode you were watching as the one I watched does not include any of the above.

The episode I watched had them. The quarters scene was too long.

Essex, perhaps you've watched the wrong one?
