I'd like to think that Nimoy's blessing is based strictly from the fact that the movie will be good and not because he may get 30 minutes of screen time.

I was pleased to read his comments, too. My guess is that Nimoy signed up perhaps more because of the role Spock has in the film, less so how much screen time Nimoy actually gets. I think Nimoy is protective of Spock, and perhaps R&A's script serves the character well, so the originating actor was happy to give his blessing and participation in the film.

One of the bigger reasons I am optimistic about this film, rather than skeptical, is that Nimoy has in fact expressed his approval.
