Default The Enterprise does not have a "window" viewscreen.

I do not know why so many keep repeating this factual error, that the Enterprise bridge has a "windshield" with a HUD for a main viewer. It quite obviously has no such thing:

Compare the front of that bridge with the Kelvin and its glaringly obvious windshield:

Pointless endeavour, those who don't like the retro-design of the Kelvin including its window/viewscreen are not the ones whose forte is distinguishing things
So they will continue to refer to the Enterprise window although it has a viewscreen.

I Think It Is A Viewscreen. JJ Would Probably Not Change That.

It really doesn't matter. The Kelvin looks like it probably has retractable blast doors in front of the windshield anyway.

I would go with viewscreen also, and that Kelvin perhaps just has a different bridge design.

Sounds like possibly an intentional design flaw to allow the Captain to get killed... then the blast doors close on the bridge and George Kirk gets his few minutes of command.

if it had blast doors, why not use them in battle?
