It seems that Orci and co view every time travel episode or film that involved it as having created an alternate universe that we moved into as they developed. Now that was in fact theorised way back by the Okudas in the Encyclopedias and Chronologies, so it would mean that we have passed through dozens of alternates over the last 40 years, so ultimately, I think by such logic that, yes ENT could have been an alternate on it's own, derived from First Contact's events.

(Actually, it is alternatIVE, not alternate - to be correct! Sorry.)

So do you think that my alternative timeline stands to reason?

The alternatIVE timeline probably stands as much as any other. If you go with the idea that each time travel event leads to a new parallel being created.
