Thumbs up Nope, not a reboot

-It's not a reboot in the strictest sense of the term, since it's set in an alternate or parallel universe or altered timeline.

A reboot would not even try to explain why everything is different, but this film does.

Whether or not the explanation is convincing or contrived is another matter, but at least they tried.

What adds more to it is the fact that this inconsistency occurs in the same scene at the end of the episode!

Evil Kirk was originally scratched on his left (our right) cheek. It stayed like this till the end of the episode, right up until Evil Kirk and Good Kirk start to confront each other on the bridge. Then the crappy stuff happens. Suddenly, Evil Kirk's scratches are moved to his right cheek, while Good Kirk's scratches remain the same. But it doesn't happen till somewhere in the middle of this confrontation right when things start getting really heated.

What is your explanation for this? I'd love to hear it.
They simply reversed the negative in some shots to get a more dramatic effect, its been done to death in a lot of movies and tv series. Check which side Kirk's hair is parted!

That's the explanation pure and simple.

Yep. It was Frakes. He was reprising his role as Riker from the TNG episode: "Pegasus". Marina Sirtis was also there as Troi. The Shat never appeared on any episode of Enterprise.
