I read he was 15... however, I don't think this is something special in the so called democratic states...

Jtrek: We have been in communication with my cousins who live 13 km north of downtown Athens where all the fighting has been. Thank G-d my family is OK, but I hope that no one you know has been affected by the events there. I don't think less of you because I know the truth.

Like they said in Young Frankenstein, "A riot is an ugly thing.... and it is about time we had one!" I like the idea of people still having enough spark to rise up when they're angry instead of baa-baa-baaaaaaaaing like a bunch of sheep.

I think the score is closer to Greed: 100000000000000000, Democracy: 0

Well, actually democracy is a result of "greed". Historically the non-aristocrat middle class demanded participation in the political process wich allowed to alter laws concerning economics and fiscal policy.

The U.S. independence and its parliamentary system for instance are a direct result of rich plantation owners refusing to pay taxes to the King.

Democracy has proven to boost the revenues of the upper middle class - the bourgeoisie.

I never think of the Greek people at all unless reading Homer, Sophocles or Thucydides.

Technically, we're a Federated Republic, not a democracy!
