Default What If - Character Killed! Who get's your vote.

So, what if in this film they killed off a ST:TOS character. Who would you choose if you had to?

Captain Pike doesn't count since he wasn't a regular and they could very well kill him off in this film or the next to make room for Kirk to be Captain.

I'm asking which of the big seven: Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura & Chekov.

I'd say Chekov so his son could helm for Captain Kirk.

I definitely don't think they should screw with the trinity: Kirk, Bones, Spock.

But I also don't think a plot like this should be fair. Nero doesn't care about TOS longevity. Killing Uhurah might be a tear jerker, and it'd make Trekkies mad. But it'd be dramatic and realistic as well. Nobody's safe.

Haha... sure, to kill off a main character sounds like the perfect way for J.J. to proof he meant it when he said the great thing about Star Trek had allways been its characters.

Seriously, my mind isnt insane enough to come up with any suggestions because I cant think of any script that could possibly be improved by killing off any of the main characters. Heck, even the death of side kicks as Yoeman Rand or Nurse Chapel or Dr. Mbenga wouldnt make sense considering there are presumable 300 redshirts we can choose from.

The only thing I could think of is to show us how Captain Pike got crippled.

To renig what I said though, I can't really make such a choice. I love all the characters. But I'm ready for anything.
