Opinion was and still is divided over Ewan McGregor and his Obi-Wan...
The Quantum Leapster would not have been my first choice for the Cap in ENT... I would have prefered a relatively unknown actor filling the role...

I think Chris Pine will do a fine job as Kirk... He does seem to have some talent and depth as an actor... I am glad it is not Mike Vogel who was also rumored... He seems wooden...

Ewan did a remarkable job IMHO... He captured the voise inflection and all... In Episode 1... In 2 and 3 his own personae sneeked into the Obi Wan a bit.

I think this was necessary as old Alec G. was never really an action hero...

That's true. Physically, Chris Pine looks good for the young Kirk, but maybe he could shadow the real Kirk, sic, William Shatner, to get a feel for his role, although I do not recommend trying too hard to be Kirk, but giving us a glimpse of the older, more awesome Kirk...Paramount, do you hear me?

Not really. That role is legend and Shatner is legend. Nothing and nothing will ever change that, not even Pine himself (he cannot be so stupid as to try to do that).

You are good! Couldn't have said it better myself. Plus Kirk as a romantic interest is so outstanding, I base my relationships on him (either you are like Kirk or not). So far only one guy met that mark....and he is married, sigh....life goes on....

Shatner is not only talented, he is open to doing things that would have embarassed the "regular" guys....he is able to elicit all kinds of emotions out of all of us....that is real talent...he is my guy!

He did perform the first one air kiss between a white man and a black woman (Uhura). Kirk wasn't afraid of the gorn but how do you think he would've faired against the borg. They would have said, "Resistance is futile." Kirk would reply, "Obviously you haven't met me yet, I Kirk, Captain James T, Kirk." "I'm afraid of no borg."

Captain James T. Kirk... the only man who could seduce the Borg Queen.

With Kirk, resistance IS futile!

Well, you know it's true--no matter the situation, Kirk seduced the woman. Even if they were trying to kill him or capture him for ransom or get something from him (with the possible exception of Nona, but she was crazy and power hungry, so she got her just end).

If nothing else, Kirk could give her a flying kick to the head--that always seems to work for him.
