That's why we have such an "intense relation" with Paraount Home Entertainment here in Germany But they get other things wrong as well! We love 'em for that.

Check out the best (or worst) efforts for episode title translations here (apparently Bernd Schneider revamped this overview again and is mostly German)!

grrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!

Boxing day ? what the hell , boxing day ??? they should change the Irish one to say its opening on St. Stephen’s Day in Ireland , nobody really knows what boxing day is . because 26th of december is called St. Stephen’s Day in IRELAND !!

St. Stephen’s Day !!!!

FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT

this is not nitpicking the day is one of nine official public holidays Ireland
so either change it to St Stephen's Day or just to say 26/12/08.
Somehow I doubt Paramount are too concerned about that i'm afraid. I always assumed Irish releases were consisered part of the UK.

Well, if you look at even a DVD, the certs tend to be the same. If the BBFC say 12, the IFCO will almost always agree. I think the studios just put Ireland in with England for release dates, case in point, Star Trek, December 26th (or St. Stephen's Day! ) While the other European countries have to wait for an extra few weeks/months.
