Default Should Klingons Appear in Trek XI...

How much importance do you place in the look of them if they are in fact featured in the new movie? Would Abrams accept TOS look of Klingons (although modernized for sure) as they're appearance was touched upon by ENT and DS9 (mention). I think the ENT explanation was a very good one, however, I am curious as to how they would look in a prequel-type film. I think having them all have ridges would be out of line and that while TOS simply had its makeup limitations, the attempt the ENT writing crew had on Klingon physiological development made for an answer that satisfied me as a fan who apreciates canon.

Abrams should stick to the TOS look more or less, in my opinion. However, I don't think canon would be violated if Klingons had one or two extremely fine ridges.

I think something should become of Worf and his son, Alexander could possibly be of some importance. Anything left of the Klingons was played out in "Generations".

Even later Klingons didn't have extreme ridges... remember Chang!

I don’t see why not. They were featured several times on TOS/TOS movies. So they are definitely a familiar during that time period.

As far as looks are concerned... I am a little undecided about this. The different Klingon looks all had their place on the evolutionary scale of one series/movie to another. I guess I am going to wait and see how they are portrayed and go from there.

I do think the Klingons of the 23rd Century had a little more brass if you get my meaning. I think that edge will be an important element in their portrayal.

If Klingons are in the movie, don't put the TOS era ones... I think the TNG era ones had a lot of character and I think the younger generation connects to those more...

Most "non-Trek" fans are going to be like, "Why does that Klingon look like just a random guy with a painted face and big eyebrows?" or... "That Klingon doesn't look like Worf..."

I know die hard fans aren't going to agree with me, but I can really see this being an issue.

Good point, I really think that's the big issue. Obviously they have already made the decision but I must admit I would be disappointed in the incontinuity of the looks as many others. If not, oh well, I suppose it's not as big of a deal as some continuity, but a disappointment none the less.

I was thinking the same thing.

It could be that even though Klingons are an Alien Race, who's to say their are not different variations based on where on Kronos they came from.
