It seems things are looking like 24th Century, maybe a little after NEMESIS or, as Commodore says if TNG were still airing the Trekverse would be in 2385 so that might be a clue.

How do we know that the Eugenics wars DIDN'T happen and the Botany Bay DIDN'T already launch? If the government can fake an Apollo moon landing, surely they can cover up something like this

To me, it seems the whole timeline is heavily disrupted. No biggie and I doubt it's something that will be focused on much, if at all in the movie. I'm not really worried about reconciling everything to fit in with canon, just go see the movie and try to enjoy it in May.
