Question WarCraft...StarCraft...curious.

Is WarCraft and StarCraft set in the same universe only centuries apart? I mean, other than the obvious fact that they both contain the word "craft" in their titles, they are also both strategy games. But, this is something that has been jogging my mind for a while. If they were in the same universe, it would make it very interesting. However, if not, then I think that whichever game came out after the other, should not have included "craft" in their title if they are not related. Now, I understand they are both strategy games and in that sense, obviously they are related, but in terms of the universe, is what I'm curious about. If anyone knows, please fill me in. Thanks!

pretty sure it went warcraft, warcraft 2, starcraft, warcraft 3, world of warcraft, starcraft 2.

but i really doubt that they are set in the same universe. You are basing your opinion on the fact that the titles both contain the word 'craft' but heaps of other games have the word 'craft' in them as well.

Such as? And no I'm not just basing the games on the fact that they contain the word "craft". I'm also basing them both on the fact that they are strategy games.

I doubt they're both based in the same universe, years apart. There's never been anything to indicate that in the extensive fictional back stories of either game.

I loved Warcraft and Warcraft II. I felt they had a misstep with WCIII in that the Hero characters undermined the gameplay, making things about protecting the hero and not about the fun strategy elements which were the hallmarks of the first two games. Never played WOW, never plan to.

Starcraft, is, simply put, my favourite strategy game ever and thousands of players and Koreans agree with me. Even 10 years after its original release. The complexity comes from the interaction of the three races rather than a high complexity of units or abilities. It's a beautifully-crafted computer game...simple to be competant in (CARRIERSSS!!!!) but very hard to excel in.

Game for the ages.
