That is an incredibly astute observation. And you're right. Spock being Spock, couldn't help but feel something, no matter how deep he would try to bury it. Even pure Vulcans have emotions and feelings, they just subordinate them in favor of logic. But Spock's emotions make it to the surface once in a while. A tough thing having that human tainted blood i guess.

And if that were to be the case behind the look he gives, if it were what he was thinking, does that not maybe, just maybe, suggest that there has been some attention to Trek's history paid?

Yes, it would. And it would be the single most important and eagerly awaited scene for me in Star Trek XI so far. Just my two cents.
