Damn. Damn.

You're referring to the terrorist uprising at hotels and a jewish center in Mumbai, India. The Taj Mahal being the focal point of the attacks. Truly a sad series of events covering three days..160 people dead and over 300 injured.

I'm watching Larry King on CNN and he advised there are conflicting reports:

A) Police have everything under control, and
B) There are two terrorists still at large in the Taj

Right now, Anderson Cooper is on with CNN Heroes so I guess the news will have to wait.

I have a really good friend there... he had to move back home to Mumbai because he couldn't get a work visa to stay here after graduating. I was chatting with him this morning... the city is on lock down. He's 7 miles from the action. Everybody is on edge. This is their version of 9/11. Although no where near as massive but still and this is a nation that puts up with terrorism all the time. The Taz and the Taj hotels are national treasures to them. They will rebuild... The Taj is built right up to the waters edge... who would have imagined armed terrorists groups would glide up in little dingies to do all this carnage. As long as Pakistan is a neighbor there will never be peace he says. This is only the first wave of a set we fear. Seven different areas targeted. He says they did capture one of them... hope they get some helpful information from the bastard.

Was the Taj Mahal (not the hotel, the ancient mausoleum) itself actually damaged? That would be a pity beyond the ability of words to express. The Taj Mahal is a masterpiece of architecture, and is considered by many to be the most beautiful building on earth.
