I'm sure that he is very excited about the film. In interviews he gives about Trek he always comes across as extremely enthusiastic about it!

I hear he's making Scotty a Glaswegian as that's where his wife and her family come from. Should be pretty authentic accent wise then!

But Scotty is from where I am just now!

(That said, I would prefer the Glasgow accent!)

Yes. He's said in the past that he doesn't want to do an imitation of James Doohan. He's probably went for a glasgow accent as he's familiar with it through his wife. She'd probably divorce him if he mucks it up!

Just as long as he doesn't say to Kirk: "See you, Jimmy!"

So, I take it you believe that Scotty will eventually hail from Aberdeen? Others seem to be saying Linlithgow?

No, he stated that he took his wife's accent, and that was not Aberdonian (It was not strictly 'Weegian either.)

Yeah, I hear she's from East Kilbride which is not too far from me! I was actually referring to the debate that's been going on between Linlithgow and Aberdeen about Scotty's true birth place. That followed on from James Doohan's portrayal (and accent).

Search again, he's a HUGE Trek fan. He may be a SW fan as well, but then again many are.

What's wrong with liking both?

They both equally stomp butthole.

Where did I say anything was wrong with liking both? Relax already.

I include myself in that number, along with Simon.
