When told that the trailer didn't show much intelligence...
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That deserves repeating. Last edited by RedShirtsRuS : 11-24-2008 at 09:42 AM. |

I liked the new Lost In Space...the ship was well designed from the saucer that it replaced.
I hope this movie wil so like the Lost in Space movie...but evern better.

The LIS movie just wasn't very good. Period. It deserved to fail. I hope this Star Trek movie does for Sci Fi what the recent Spiderman and Batman movies did for comic book heroes. What's its competition like in early May? I know Harry Potter's not coming out until July.

I can see the studio execs now . . .
"Joey Tribbiani: Space Hero. Yeah, that'll work." ![]()

Personally I thought the "Lost In Space" movie was very good, albeit overloaded with too much SFX.
But no, it won't be the same with "Star Trek" because much more care is being taken by Paramount. This is the first time in my lifetime I've seen this franchise get the huge budget blockbuster unmissable "most anticipated movie of the year" treatment and buzz around it. |

Yeah...I think people are just hating on the film...frankly anything is better than the original Lost in Space.

In that movie, I thought the ship was cool, Matt LeBlanc was surprisingly effective, the little kid was cute, Heather Graham was hot, as usual, and William Hurt and Mimi Rogers good in their roles too. Gary Oldman was brilliant, but he's Gary Oldman, so naturally he would be. The end theme song by Apollo Four Forty was also cool. They should have cut that annoying little alien monkey thing though.
Moreso, it was accessible for someone like me, who had never seen a single episode of the old TV series, yet had no canon nonsense to worry about, and fully understood the story. To think it had the misfortune of following "Titanic" at the top of the box office, I think they did a pretty good job. "Lost In Space" is certainly ready for a revamp and another attempt, in either movie or TV form. Last edited by HRH The KING : 11-24-2008 at 02:46 PM. |

I concur on all counts especially the acting of the Dr. Smith character and the end song is definitely in my personal arsenal.
