I know we can't show those pirated photos which were leaked long ago, but one shot of a shuttle on location also shows a registry number on the side, and a painted shape is next to the numbers. It doesn't appear to be a symbol of any designation, just a design shape.

Proof of nothing in the trailer footage, just FYI.

It looks more like a Delta than an A to me, but it's not fully clear enough to tell.

Can't really make it out either. In TOS the Galileo had the ID number NCC-1701 / 7. Does it look like it could be in the same format? I'm not saying it's the Galileo though..

I just wonder why there is no dash.
It's not NCC 1701.
It's NCC-1701

Must agree. TNG shuttles looked like flying bricks.

I don't think so.
I think it's a symbol...nondescript.

If it helps, a tiny fragment of 'that photo' -- offered to illustrate a small point here only. Hopefully this does not incur the ire of our Redshirt, given how insignificant this fragment is otherwise -- I will gladly remove the photo if asked.

See attached image: it's just a painted shape, I don't see it as a symbol for anything specific.
