Default The last ride of the Canonistas. (An ode to lost canon)

All the fans hung their head,
Thinking Star Trek was dead,
After Berman and Braga had botched it.
And we bought DVD's,
To re-live memories,
Of the thousands of times we had watched it.
We were greatly surprised,
When Paramount realized,
That they'd lost all that sci-fi fan dough.
And to get back on track,
They would bring Star Trek back,
And that J.J.'d be running the show.
So they made us a teaser,
That was quite an eye pleaser,
But the Enterprise wasn't quite right.
The fans all discussed it,
And some of them cussed it,
While J.J. kept his lips shut tight.
Then a new trailer came,
And more things weren't the same,
As they'd been in the Star Trek we'd known.
New fans said it was good,
But old fans understood,
That Gene's vision had been overthrown.
Trekkies all showed their ire,
But we came under fire,
From the voices no loyalty could sway.
And for a piece of the pie,
And some cool C.G.I.
The real Star Trek faded away.

Well Mr. Hood. I like it but I'm not ready to throw Canon away.
There is room for both canons in my world.

Can we throw away the canon where Data dies?

Well, I've heard this refrain; I must say
Well, son, guess we'll say it's okay
The classic era may be through
But just wait 'til they do this to you.

I think if you modify the poem you could turn it in a really cool rap or a song...
I prefer the rap version...then post it on you tube....

Great poem and definitely true. JJ has ensured that the real Star Trek that we all grew up with is dead and gone. This is TOS The Next Generation. Give it to the new fans and let all of us old fuddy-duddies fade away with the last 40 years of Trek history.
