A valid question since many think this time travelling "make the TOS crew band together in one movie" a flop idea. Plz remember you need to make atleast 200 million to let ST live for XII

Default it's only my opinion but...

I would have gone with something like a gigantic rift appearing in space where a complete solar system from another galaxy overlaps into our universe and brings with it a new and terrifying foe that suddenly finds itself confronted with the opportunity to expand into our universe.

Underpinning this story would be the Federations attempt to stop the new foe by sending an armada of Federation ships led by the Enterprise.

A great battle ensues and most of the Federation ships are destroyed. Spock is captured during the battle. The remaining ships escape and Kirk is forced to forge an alliance with the Klingons and devise a plan to ultimately stop the armarda, rescue Spock and seal the rift between the universes.

Help ultimately comes from an unexpected quarter as a fleet of Romulan ships suddenly announce themselves and offer their assistance. However, Kirk does not trust the Romulan Fleet Commander, who is the son of the Romulan Commander he defeated several years before.

Note: The new foe has powerful regenerative ships and weapons of immense destruction, they are also the creators of the planet killer as seen in the Doomsday Machine.

You know that is not a bad idea, even has neat TOS references. Perhaps one of the Star Trek novels could become a movie. Any fav novels? Plz give a synopsis too cuz i have read only a few

Ok.

So The Big E ( TOS) Is Flyin Through When It Comes Upon A Federation Wreckage.

Kirk Soon Learns That It Is His Dear Freind Johnson's Ship. So, He Figures Out It Has Unfamilier Signitures Of Weapons. He Contacts Starfleet And Learns It Mtaches The Sig. Of The Borg Ship That Attacked NX-01. So, They Order A Armada, And They Go, And Defeat The Borg.

How about a chance for the TOS crew actually training a new crew to take over, like in ST 2 8.But you never saw the crew change over in the rest of the movies.
