It's kinda sad, what people will do when they have too much free time. Look at me, I'm responding to a You Tube video on a Star Trek forum. Very sad . . .

Oh, gawds...that would have been painful indeed...and you're right, it would be comparable to Spock yelling all his orders for the whole time. Unpleasant!

That, or something about his family, maybe?

Maybe Kirk is trying to prevent Spock being too emotional in reacting to some action or threat against them, and he's doing this to make a point and 'snap Spock out of it' for a moment.

Thus Spock is not wigging out on his own volition, out of control, but he's being goaded into a fight -- and indeed baited to confront his human side and emotions. Being younger, I'd say Spock would have less experience handling that conflict 'in check' and would be a bit more volatile about it than he was in the TOS era.
Yes, I think that Spock is being goaded into the fight.
Remember in one of the four clips that was shown...

Those guys appear to correct about the height of the Star ship...
Houston's tallest Building is as tall as Enterprise is long...305 meters. and the Enterprise shouldn't stand that tall if it's only 300 or 400 meters long.

No, they're wrong. They make the comment that Kirk is miles away. Looking at the trailer it's more like the ship is simply several yards right over the fence. That close, it will appear to be looming.

Dude is standing right next to it. Honestly, it doesn't even look that big. It seems big, he's standing pretty close to it.

No that is a lame explanation to say that Spok behaved so because he was under "influence" He just lost the ability to control his emotions. A young Spock would be easily provoked. I even remember Spock trying to kill Scott in "Day of the Dove"

You see, that is why i have a problem with so called canonites. Cant you see TOS always potrayed a tortured soul in Spock on how emotionally unstable he was, and Vulcans in general. Vulcans are even more emotional than humanity, which is why they fought all the time till Surak came along
