Question Will Archer have a non-speaking cameo?

Will Jonathan Archer have a non-speaking cameo at the launch of the Enterprise NCC-1701?

According to Memory Alpha:

Quote:
For the biographical display seen in "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II", writer Mike Sussman wrote a final section of text that didn't end up being visible on screen, stating that Archer "...died at his home in upstate New York in the year 2245, exactly one day after attending the christening ceremony of the first Federation starship Enterprise, NCC-1701". Note that Sussman himself has said this information might not be canon.

Even though it wasn't officially considered canon, will JJ Abrams honor it?

It could be a surprise hidden cameo, or they might show footage of him from ENT.

JJ Abrams better know about ENT and its significance to the Star Trek Canon. Him not knowing about Archer is like that scene in Generations when Kirk said, "You left spacedock without a tractor beam?!".

That would be a neat nod to the fans. *I read on Trekmovie that Scotty mentions an "Admiral Archer" in one of the international previews.

That's cool. I hope the viewers actually get to see Admiral Archer.

Isn't that to do with his beagle (possibly, but not necessarily, Porthos) and a transporter accident?

From what I've read about JJ via his interviews about Star Trek. The only Star Trek he really had real respect for was TOS. MAYBE TNG but that's not an exact fact. But as for the other three series I really doubt JJ will hold to anything they said or had in there shows. Especially Enterprise which in my opinion re-wrote Star Trek canon for the worst. But I didn't even know about the whole Jonathan Archer timeline and what not. So Abrams won't do it. It would be something no one except for the fans would get. It would have the same effect as throwing Shatner in for a cameo JUST to have him in the film. And Bakula pales greatly in comparison to Shatner.

Now after reading that I sound like a complete killjoy. IF they showed Archer in the movie or at least mentioned him. It wouldn't make the movie any less good than it's going to be. It's just something I think JJ never thought of.
