I am a huge Bond fan and QOS was a C- for me. Action could have been cool but the editing was too fast and the scenes filmed too close with the rapid action to tell what was happening. Story was flat IMO. I was a bit bummed. Craig was great with what he was given though.

BUT the Trek trailer rocked and the theater roared, which was very fulfilling.

I remember the Nemesis trailer and folks saying "OMG another one"

Practically ripped from my site's review. I think it's a case of the wrong director for the right film. Not as good as CASINO ROYALE, but it advanced and deepens the character more. I'd expect a little less character introspection and a little more spy work against the Quantum group (who so far have a lot of work to do to rival SPECTRE).

The reason everyone went to see Quantum of Solace was the Chase scene between the Alfa Romeo 159s and the Aston Martin. FACT.

I'm not so convinced yet. I think they need to start actually giving us some good info - after two films all we know is there's a secret organisation out there. After two entire movies, if that's the direction they want to go in I would have expected more. There appears to be a sense that story isn't over, yet the film doesn't have the cliffhanger Royale did, although the Vesper story is neatly resolved. And they need to give us a bad guy whose actually bad. The last two have been pathetic - a financier and a negotiator? They're not intimidating nor do they have any sense of menace or evil. The homage to Goldfinger was botched also, giving Gemma Arterton nothing to do.

But I have to say, though they are competent action films, they still don't to me quite 'feel' like Bond as I gew up with him. Craig's and Bond are going to have to have some fun next time, he's not got that aspect down yet. Perhaps we could get some staples such as Moneypenny, Q and a couple of gadgets start to blend in next time.
