Default Movie Font...

Will the Title and related lettering be from TOS - or, as w/ much of the new movie - it's own, new style?

The font of the title in the new trailer is a Trek TOS font...

Thanks...

But I wonder if that seals the deal - or is just a 'bridge' until the Film, no pun intended...

I think we'll see a mix of both, no doubt the title will stay the trek TOS font for recognition, and perhaps everything else will be the new font we've seen in both trailers now...

Agreed.

BTW - the promo posters certainly have employed the original font - thus far.

I would imagine that the title card will be done in the classic typeface, but the titles themselves may be done in the block type used for the “UNDER CONSTRUCTION” and credits cards.

Oh, and a minor nitpick if I may…

When talking about how a particular piece of text looks and feels—the way it’s designed, the term to use is, “typeface.” A “font” is the means by which the text is created, so for instance, one can purchase rubber stamps that produce letters in the Helvetica or Times typefaces, but the stamps themselves are the fonts.

I agree. A mix of TOS and the new typface (see, I learn quickly!) is most likely.

The new wallpapers with the title sure are in the classic typeface! Looks great.

So when you go into your preferred text editor, and it says ''fonts'' and lests one select from Times New Roman and Federation Bold, that is wrong?
