Nimoy. He still has legitimate artistic credibility.

Slightly OT, but up until yesterday I had a lot of reservations about John Cho as Sulu, but last night I watched Harold and Kumar... and while it's not the greatest film ever John Cho actually did remind me of Takei.

Now someone just has to convince me that Chris Pine can fill Shatners shoes

I would say Nimoy but i think thats a bit obvious so im going for Mr. Quinto as I believe he is an excellent choice for the role !

Besides the obvious choices, Nimoy and Quinto, I think Urban... and Pegg. he is an interesting actor, can't wait to see him as Scotty. Right now I can't really imagine him in that role, but it seems he might just be one of the best here.

Is it time for me to say Shatner?

Quinto.

Seems the Spocks are having a clear upperhand here, though was it ever in question that Nimoy would turn out most popular?

Leonard Nimoy is certainly a given. But among the new cast, I really like the idea for Karl Urban as McCoy. At first I was skeptical, but he grew on me, specially after seeing his "haircut" on the photos of the Cloverfield premiere.

I'd have to agree. I honestly only knew him from the Lord of the Rings and since he portrays such a different character on there it was hard for me to see the casting choice. He sure looks the role much better now.

Very true, he also seems to be very clued up about the ethos of star trek if you read some of the interviews. It could just be him talking rubbish to win us over but im hoping he gets it.

Eric Bana. He was great as "Hoot" in Blackhawk Down. He was good in Munich as well.
