If it helps: before BOND opened in the UK, it was announced that the TREK trailer would make it's debut on November 14th in US theaters. While the trailer would be attached to QUANTUM here, it was not automatically debuting with that movie *everywhere* in the world on various openings.

The date was the target for the trailer, not the movie title.

Carrot, I'd definitely recommend seeing it in the theater if possible. Watch it a few times online to get the basic action and scenes in your mind, then see it on the big screen just to enjoy the grandeur and scale of it all.

Didn't catch it. Will have to settle for online first - never mind, as long as I see it anyway!

True, but a global simultaneous release is VERY hard (and expensive) for a studio to accomplish. The staffing and expense of such a worldwide effort raises costs tremendously, and the current economy would be one mitigating factor against such ballooning of budgets for an already expensive film.

Though of course the international release dates were set long before the recent economic meltdowns -- but still for the same reasons. It also makes press junkets for the films impossible since the cast/filmmakers can't be everywhere at one time.
