If you are trying to market a new product you make certain you have the best photo of it to run in your ad campaign.

I don't think so. I am guessing there will be a big reveal with all the Trek fanfare in the movie. If this is the case, then I could see them not spoiling it by releasing the best shots of the Enterprise.

That's not teasing. If you wanted to tease you could take a much better shot from say just above one of the nacelles looking across the saucer section showing the bridge and part of the Enterprise lettering.

I've done some checking and compared the two designs. As you can see in the attached picture, the neck of the new one is actually too far foward, and the next is too big.
