On the german website for Star Trek XI there is just the Trailer for the UK. Is this a mistake or is there no german teaser trailer (yet)? (I assume they are still searching for a german voice for Spock)
Has anyone information about it?

I think the old voice would do great for the trailer. I think they should have a recording of that sentence somewhere...
It's a shame, that with all those technical advances we have nowadays those old voices don't get analyzed and computer generated. Watching the DVDs in German really sucks when the voices suddenly change. ![]() |

They must find a new voice and I think they make a good choice. Time has changed

I'm stuck with the original voices of the actors and don't care for the german voices. I hope I will get a theater which shows the original here in Germany.
Foreign voices and words which doesn't match the actual mimik and gestik of face and lips, simply won't work with me anymore. I'm spoiled since I'm able to understand the original fluently. It's worlds apart from the translated versions and I don't want to miss Nimoys wonderful voice and little sighs. |

Unfortunately I'm not so fluent in English. Reading and writing works good enough, but understanding it gets difficult sometimes. As soon as people start talking in dialects or with heavy accents I get problems. I tend to miss important tiny little things of a plot.
![]() So I prefer to see the movie in German first, to make sure, that I really understand everything. And after that I see, if I'm up for watching the English version either in cinema with german subtitles or later on DVD. |

Yay, Norbert Gescher. I really like his voice. He is a worthy successor of Herbert Weicker. My greatest fear was a third voice actor.
I think, they don't put the Teaser onto the site because just one sentence was translated. Last edited by s4ndwichMakeR : 02-03-2008 at 02:15 AM. |
