According to TNG and DS9, there have only been six

Federation Starships is the line.
NX-01 is NOT a Federation Starship, was an Earth ship. ![]()

Yes wouldn't it have been nice if B and B had made even a token effort to weave Enterprise into established Star Trek Cannon? Shame that they didn't. anyway this has been debated time and time again so enough of that.

If the Enterprise J is canon and is the first Enterprise "timeship", then there would still be the F, G, H, and I left to go as starships, which would make a total of 10 Starship Enterprises wouldn't it?

Starship Enterprises shown on screen, as far as I know:
Earth: USS Enterprise XCV-330 NX-01 Enterprise (not USS, though) UFP: USS Enterprise NCC-1701 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E USS Enterprise NCC-1701-J |

I wouldn't count the "Enterprise-J" as an official ship because it comes from only a potential future in the same way the three-nacelled Enterprise-D was from a potential future in TNG's "All Good Things..."
One of the constant things in Trek has been that the future has never been written in stone...

Different ship designs have come from different timelines. So.... who's to say which timeline is the correct one?

That's exactly my point. It's only one of many potential timelines out there, so there could be many different versions of the Enterprise-J.

Enterprise-J is a timeship, not a starship. Three nacelled Galaxy from "All Good Things" was a refit of the Enterprise-D from another quantum reality.
