To be honest never really like Sternbachs designs, too blocky and square.
I'd rather have Andy probert comment on these new designs as he designed the best looking Enterprises in my opinion.

I find it interesting Sternbach says 'Those of us who have done this in our sleep'. That might be indicative of why new blood has caused such a commotion.

Nahhh... Ryan Chruch. I knew it. I mean... I should have known.

I found most of the new ships in the Star Wars Prequels awkward, strange, naive and somewhat, I dont know. Then I read Ryan Chruch where to design the new E. Then I saw the results and went "NOOOoooo...!!". Now trekmovie.com reminds me of Ryan Chruch to be the guy behind the new E and all makes sense again.

In any case, it's nice to see a calm discussion of it and exchange of ideas -- not to mention further clarification that we're not seeing a full representation of the design from this (distorting) angle.

Now my interest has hit the ceiling! I liked the design of the new E. Can't wait to see her in new angles and lit up!

After looking at the new E again. It has grown on me a bit. After seeing the neck location of the original 1701, this new ship doesn't look as bad as it did when I first saw it. I am feeling much better about the new E. The Apple store bridge is harder to swallow. No matter what, sets nor ship design will keep me from enjoying this movie.

Lots of great work to me, but I can't draw a stick man!! I think he has a lot of interesting concept ideas that maybe are different, but remember in a film, it's people like the director who agree to use them as well, even if they are out there a bit.
