Im a graphic designer/photoshop CS4 wiz... so its pretty easy for me. As for the lighting, I placed a light source where I guessed it might be coming from in the original image and thats the glow/glare it generated based on real time angles. I actually toned it down a bit.

LOL! I think I actually have a few unbuilt unopened AMT models from 1979 in their basement! Their value just plummeted!

Captain Pike here. As you know I command the ship in the movie and would like a request. If it is all possible, Reverse the Pylons like in the 79 movie version with the saucer and neck in the original place in the press release picture tonight. The pylons are upside down and facing foward compared to the 79 model. You will have a fine ship after that!!!

The saucer and neck will stay forward in all my versions, I think the ship looks horrendous with them in the original position. I would prefer pylons that are similar dimensions but swept back instead of forward, but my photoshop skills aren't sufficient to do that alteration.

I, for one, haven't seen the official picture of the ship. Could someone post a link so I can compare the changes here? Thanks.

I think you've made some interesting changes here. This design is much better. Almost perfect actually. Yes, these changes will do, thank you very much.

based on the early views we got of the USS Kelvin, here is my attempt to recreate it based on the new enterprise.

Nice, can I make a special request? I'd love to see the Ent-E done using TOS style surface details.

Put the struts a little further up, closer to the saucer and see what happens. Not that it will help any, but I cannot help but be curious. Please and thank you.
P.S.: you may need to move the saucer a bit further forward on the neck as well.
