Also, the pylons also look a bit shorter than 'usual' from this angle -- which would give the E a lower vertical profile when viewed from a side-on angle. That would at least be consistent with the general trend of TREK designs from TNG onward.

At least some may be pleased there aren't tons of "glowing crap" on it, though the lighting of the shot (which I like) does make for a rather bright view of the E.

The front of the nacelles may be the part of design I find the most surprising and slightly jarring, but I want to see it from different angles before I make up my mind on them.
Yes it looks like the pylons start from closer to the rear of the secondary hull, rather than previously being a touch further forward, the neck looks larger depth wise, and the rear curve of the lower hull seems also longer.

I also love the lighting though, I wonder if it's 100% CGI. If it is, the effects in this really are going to be outstanding. But still want to see more angles and a movement shot in the trailer.

I won't say it sucks. It's just shockingly different that the E or what I expected. I know the movie needs to be updated for today's audience, production standards, etc., but this just seems like change for the sake of change.

I do agree, we need to see her in action.
