I started this thread simply because I wanted to express my ''I repeat that's My Personal'' opinion. I can understand when people feel so pasionat about what they like. I was in limbo before I saw the footage.

BUT

To answer your question about hhhmmmm is everyone going to like this design. It's real good?
My thoughts were and are ''YES'' they WILL.

Dude if you thought that this radical change in the ENTERPRISE....
wasn't going to strike a sour note....then you're deluded.
Go look in the Thread with the favorite Enterprise...
Take the last three categories and add them together and you will see that it's not popular...it's controversal.

This is not going to be a Trek movie like we knew it and this confirms it.
It's a different animal and this lets me known when I see it. I should just jump off the continuity train before I walk in.

JJ or any filmmaker would know going into a project that their film will not please every single person, and not even every single fan. This is truer if the filmmaker is attempting to tell a bold, daring story with a new take on material in order to give it new relevance in a new time. With an existing fanbase, some are going to reject it simply on the merits of its changes, regardless of the value those changes do or don't offer.

If JJ has simply retreaded previous TREK, the film would fail and please few, just like the last TREK films and series pleased few.

Who here would have wanted that outcome, just to keep a ship looking exactly the same as it did 40 years ago?

'Well lets thank god that the Excelsior wasnt used as the new Enterprise as it was supposed to be in Search for Spock. Thats an amateur design if ever I saw one!!'

Thats what I thought when I first saw the Excelsior, but seeing more of it I actually like it now though its still not one of my favourites and I think this is the point people are trying to make here, give it a chance you might like it when you see it in action!!

kirks rebellious state doesnt not go against canon. Him serving on one mission with a captain when he was snuck on the ship is still within canon cause its one time, like kirk said. Spock is young and kirk can push his buttons. He may be Vulcan but he doesnt let people walk all over him. So basically everything you are saying JB is going against Canon.

Until you see footage of the The new E in action I wouldn't expect you to understand.
