The thing *I* think is funny is tons of people on numerous forums post:
  1. This spoiler is accurate and what the storyline is based around.
  2. These spoilers are inaccurate, and the story is totally different than any spoiler out there.

Yet none offer anything to substantiate either point of view. It just is. Period. End of discussion.

That, I find humorous - and is the reason I take neither seriously. The movie will be what it is (or what it will be), and one or more people will be wrong - while one or more people will be right. I guess time will tell who fits in which category.

Though, the people who are saying "the movie won't match any of the spoilers" have it the easiest I think - since they dont post alternate story theories. A lot less details for them to be wrong about.

Time will tell...

In any of my discussions about spoilers/rumors, I try to emphasize IF this particular spoiler is true, what are your thoughts, feelings, etc. It's just pure speculation based on conjectures/partial truths that we do have. Otherwise, there would be less to talk about. I like many others don't want to know the whole plot before seeing the movie, but I realize talking about general plot ideas this early in the game helps garner interest amongst fans.

Default Kirk??

Why is everyone assuming that Kirk is going to be in this movie?
Was Captain Pike not the original Captain of this ship???

But only two of them will be Jameses.

As for the prior question: Chris Pine was long ago announced he would play James T. Kirk, it's hardly news by this late date.

Christopher Pike also appears in the story.

aef... NCC likes to do that. He's referring to the total number of Kirk characters in the cast, as you listed too. It boils down to: father, mother, brother and Jim (young and grown) = four Kirks. Not four Jims, you're correct.

Excluding the conspiratorial appearance by Shatner, of course.

So no Barber Shop Quartet, "The Four Kirks?"
