We’ll all see next Friday, though, when the trailer premieres in front of QUANTUM OF SOLACE, and last week, the trailer got screened on the Paramount lot all day long for employees. Two of them decided to weigh in on what they saw, and we’ve got the first of those reports here for you:

Sounds bloody weird, to be perfectly honest Those descriptions sound a bit ludicrous... we'll see, though.

Sounds like more of an extended teaser trailer instead of a full theatrical trailer.
As of right now I don’t plan on seeing “Bond” on release day. I hope this trailer goes online at or about the same time.

When JJ is very clever he will create an interesting trailer with not a single information about the story.

Why?

E.g I watched the Matrix 2 trailer and all Matrix 2 clips in the interenet. When I finally went to the cinema I had the impression that all important scenes were already familiar to me, beause they were part of the trailer or clips.
That's a terrible feeling.

After reading the synopsis I was left with the same impression. I believe this movie will be grand in scope and scale. I know from the descriptions provided in the link it may not make much sense. However, a particular trailer I viewed in 1977 that featured quick camera shots, disjointed dialogue and was certainly difficult to follow. That movie was “Star Wars.”

I remember with fondness the original TMP trailer with voiceover by Orson Welles. We were so starved for anything we gladly welcomed it. Trailers of the subsequent movies improved over the years with my favorite being the ST: The Undiscovered County.

As stated countless times by the good people here, the movie will give us something familiar (naturally) while also providing a kick in our comfort zone with something different. I intend to sit back and enjoy it with an open mind and to paraphrase an old expression: “this ain’t your daddy’s Star Trek anymore.”
