Will we actually see Captain Kirk work his mojo with some alien hottie sans clothing? If so, I would not want my 14 or 15 year old going to see it for a couple more years. But that's just me. There's already too much of that on TV for our kids to watch as it is. Technically, with the exception of T'Pol, there has been no real nudity in Star Trek in it's entire 40 year existence. Sexy girls, revealing outfits, yes. But that's it. I watch TOS with my 4 y/o son all the time and he loves it. And I have no problem letting him watch it. If they start moving in that direction with this movie, my son may have to wait until I can get the DVD and edit out the raunch before he can see it. Any opinions on this?
How you educate your children, that is your thing, but I believe that violence in TV and movies is a bad thing for children or teenagers, not nudity. That's how we all look without clothing, but violence should be the exception in our daily life.
On the other hand, there is no need for XXX Trek and the old approach of Shakespeare or TOS still works best. But there is a large difference between nudity and pornography, a woman taking her top off does not sound like there is anything to worry about.

I dunno. The "angsty Kirk" described in the trailer, throw in the 'taking the top off' snip in the trailer -- 16-25 seems to be the age group they're going for.

The trailer description said it's a *silhouette* of a woman taking off her top... I wouldn't consider implied partial nudity as "sex".

Those kids have star wars too. None of those new movies made any sense nor had any adult thinking or logic. I'm holding Trek to a higher standard an adult standard of inteligence.

I'd agree, but mainly with a bit of a younger age. I think if that does happen, it will be more of an implied thing, or very quick (like the scene in Iron Man, or maybe in Nemesis) But as for me personally, my 15 year old nephew has probably seen worse.

Ironman was alot more racey that it came across in the theatre. Those deleted seens taken out went just a little further. I'm glad they took them out. Maybe they'll do the same with trek.
